Why build a mobile optimised site

“ Google believes that in three years or so, Desktops will give way to mobile and the primary screen from which most people will consume information and entertainment.”

This is according to European Google Boss John Herlihy who said that smartphones enhance Google’s mission to make information universal.

With the new (4G) bandwidth technology more and more internet searches are now being done via mobile devices (iphone’s, ipad’s, Blackberry’s and Android’s) than on laptop or desktop computers.

There are many reasons having a mobile website makes sense – Take a look and see which one you agree with..

  • Your current website will not display correctly on smaller mobile screens.
  • Mobile searches are primarily for phone, contact and address details.
  • Guests to your site will not stick around if they have to do the “pinch and pull”.
  • Having a mobile compatible website will allow you to be listed on mobile search engines.
  • Mobile websites are easier for mobile users to take action.
  • 95% of current sites will not render properly on mobile devices.
  • Your current site loads very slowly on mobile devices.

As you can see, having a mobile website just makes so much more sense. They will load faster, be indexed in mobile search engines and your guests are more likely to do business with you because you will be displaying exactly what they are searching for.
