Yellow pages are over

“As Read Write Web points out, ‘nearly 70% of adults in the United States rarely or never use the phone book, and opt instead to use web-based search tools, which are infinitely more convenient and efficient.”

On February 1, the National Yellow Pages Association and the Association of Directory Publishers launched YellowPagesOptOut, an easy-to-use website where customers can “opt out” of the Yellow Pages’s automatic home delivery service.

Everyone knows the Yellow Pages aren’t what they used to be, but I don’t think everyone realizes how truly bad it is.

Below, provided by Google Analytics Website Tracking, is from a client who has been running Yellow Pages online directory ads for quite a few years and you can see that advertising in the yellow pages does not drive traffic to your business.
