Transworld International Movers are a leader in the relocations industry. Based in Auckland, Transworld specializes in relocations to and from the UK and Australia and services all other regions in the world. When Transworld partnered with The Web Company in 2009 their website was doing little for their business. The site did not fit in with the Transworld image and was not bringing in business or providing a service to their customers.
Transworld also wasn’t appearing in the search engine rankings and so was losing business to its competitors. The Web Company recommended a website redesign and development to include search engine optimisation (SEO).
The challenge with the new Transworld website was to not only build something that represented Transworld but to provide a resource of good information for potential customers. Transworld knew that by providing a good website resource they would save time in the sales process. Most of their customers were unsure of what they actually needed. Transworld staff were spending a lot of time on the phone to these customers taking them through their options. The new website needed to provide this information and then lead the customer to take an action.
The other challenge was compiling all the content in the form of brochures that Transworld had and turning it into web copy that worked for both website visitors and search engines. Because the site would be heavy in content, this challenge was something that needed to be well thought out by The Web Company team before the site was built.
One of the Transworld website’s primary aims was to increase business through their web channel. This meant that the work that the online marketing team was doing needed to improve the visibility of the Transworld site to its potential customers. In the initial phase of the project the Transworld team and The Web Company team met regularly to develop the framework of the site and to understand the content requirements. The services of a professional photographer were also enlisted to photograph the image and service offerings of Transworld.
The new website design was based upon careful planning. Transworld informed The Web Company of what they liked, The Web Company’s online marketing team then developed the website’s framework based on keyword research and content, and finally, The Web Company’s designer put together a dynamic new site design that really highlighted Transworld services effectively.
You can’t compare the new Transworld site to the old one. The new website is content rich, easy to navigate, and highly optimised for search engines. Rankings and website traffic have improved since the launch. In April 2009, Transworld was averaging around 700 visitors per month. By November 2009, visitors were up to 1,120 per month. Visitors now use the website to plan their international move, decide on the best options, and read up on regulations and information that affects them. Transworld has successfully taken their offline expertise and translated it into an effective website resource and sales tool.
TWC understood exactly our brief for development of our website and have shown knowledge and great enthusiasm for this project. The brief for a working, simple and memorable web experience has been met, with great success. The website reflects the style and look of our physical store.
